Galaxy 102 – Alphafold2 and its derivates

20 Nov 2023 at 10:00 - 12:30

SCOPE     Get to know the expanding tool collection for predicting protein folding. This is less of a hands-on course but more of a presentation of the available tools and what insights you can produce with them
GUESTS¹
  • Alexander Schleiffer (Bioinformatics Service IMP) will provide an introduction to Alphafold2’s methodology
  • Andreas Hagmüller (Burga Group, IMBA) will present some in silico interaction studies, comparing Alphapulldown and manual screening, and how to complement experimental data with structure predictions
  • Lukas Schindler (Schlögelhofer Group, MaxPerutzLabs) will show how he implimented Alphapulldown in elucidating and visualizing protein-protein interactions
  • Victoria Deneke (Pauli Group, IMP) will present new tools that have emerged recently to explore alternative protein conformations and missense variant predictions such as CFold and AlphaMissense
WHEN     Monday, November 20, 10:00 am, ~1.5 hours
WHO     Everyone interested in protein folding. Please contact me to register.
WHERE     Seminar room 434F (4th floor, VBC6)
